Pierre Mellot, a setter at International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) competitions across the world joined as our Guest Setter for West Coast Blocs 2025. We managed to wrangle him just as he woke up from his long-haul flight in time to ask a couple questions before the main event.

For the few years we’ve held our birthday event, the daytime vibes were fun, but the energy was scattered throughout the entire day. As we’ve grown older, so has our understanding of what “growing older” means. This time around, we wanted to recreate the feel of an old-school disco, but reimagined in our way. Something completely different than what we’ve ever done before.
