What a day.
West Coast Blocs 2026 brought the community together for a huge day of climbing. Here’s a look back at the day.
Morning
The day kicked off at 7am with Opens Qualifiers. Energy and commitment was high, with climbers flying in from interstate and even overseas to compete. Joelle Cheah and Paul Verosil joined the fray after winning the SEA Boulder League, spanning across 3 countries and 3 rounds.
DoubleDouble was there bright and early, serving up iced coffees to fuel the stoke.
Afternoon
Sessions 1-3 kept the momentum rolling, with Novice and Intermediates going head to head on freshly reset pumpfest boulders.
More stalls and vendors opened up as the day went on, with food from Anton's Bratwurst, with So iLL, Open Project, Ganba and Climbit Physio, offering a range of merchandise, massage, giveaways and more discounts and offers for WCB attendees.
The FOUND. bar opened up just as Session 3 wrapped up.
Community
West Coast Blocs is about bringing the people together who make the community what it is. Members across all Portside gyms were spotted hanging out or competing on the day.

Evening
As session 3 came to a close, the setters got to work resetting the Prow and Star sectors for finals. There was a buzz in the air as spectators rushed to snag a good viewing spot on the bleachers.
The top 6 finalists took to the stage and battled it out for a spot on podiums, with Gerald Verosil and Jordyn Damasco winning first place and the $1500 cash prize!
The evening ended on a high, with podiums across Novice, Intermediate and Opens categories. Congrats to all of our winners, and a huge well done to everyone who competed.
Behind the Scenes
